Is your counselling service confidential?
Yes, confidentiality is of the upmost importance. However there are certain legal and ethical exceptions oulined in the BACP code of ethics. These expections usually have to do with putting yourself or others in danger and in which case it may be necessary to seek outside help. No action would be taken without me discussing it with you in detail first. It is very rare that an issue is ever taken outside the confidentiality of the counselling room.
How much does it cost?
My current fee is £40 per session. Any cancelled or missed sessions will be charged for.
How do I pay?
I would ask you to pay for your initial consultation in cash, ongoing session will be invoiced at the end of the month and payment will be required by cash or direct transfer or cheque.
How often would I have to come?
I usually see clients for one 50 minute session each week.
How many sessions will I need ?
It varies a lot. Some clients find a few sessions help with a specific problem. I see other people for open ended therapy. This will be discussed in our initial consultation,
Is it a demonstration of failure or weakness to need counselling?
No, far from being weak it is a sign of strength when we acknowledge that we need support and take the first steps towards making changes.
Is there a waiting room at your practice?
There is no waiting room in my practice this ensures client confidentality
